Douglas Fir Ceiling Beams, Chino Valley
Six decorative Douglas-fir box beams stained to match existing timber trusses on a 22-foot vault in a Chino Valley living room.

Representative example of this type of work.
Scope of work
Beam layout across a 22-foot vault, shop fabrication of six Douglas-fir box beams, stain matching to the home's existing exposed timber trusses, and concealed lag mounting into the roof structure.
Fabrication and installation
Hollow box beams built in the shop, field-fit to the vault run
Truss and blocking locations were confirmed before layout so lag mounting would land on solid framing rather than drywall alone.
What the detail solved
The existing timber trusses were a different species than a stock beam option, so the stain had to be custom-matched rather than picked from a standard sample.
Beams are decorative and carry no structural load; the existing trusses remain the load-bearing members.
Checklist
